The previous draw has existed since the bets were invented. You just have to remember the game Heads or Tails, which consisted of tossing a coin into the air, hiding it on the back of one hand with the palm of the other, and only then asking which of the two sides of the coin to bet on. Or also, the popular game of the three glasses and the ball hidden in one of them.

That last game represented a previous draw by mixing the location of the glasses in a dizzying way, making the spectator lose sight of the glass with the precious ball; then proposing to bet on the glass that the player believed contained it.

The disuse and the consequent disappearance of the Previous Draw was the product of bad faith, cheating, sleight of hand, deception; but that does not mean that it ceased to be a great attraction for the betting public, although it did not yet have a reliable solution.
